Sometimes, I really don't get the sense of being "EMO".
Well according to Wikipedia, Emo (pronounced /ˈiːmoʊ/) is a genre of music that originated from hardcore punk and later adopted pop punk influences when it became mainstream.
The stereotype or emo fashion is more commonly tied to fashion than to music, and the term "emo" is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (sometimes short sleeved) which often bear the names of emo bands (or other designer shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes (often old and beaten up) and thick, black horned rimmed glasses. This fashion has at times been characterized as a FAD.
Let me stress the word FAD again.
Being EMO right now, I think, is just being a big fad, wherein you wanna look or be emo just to fit in. Like, gosh, everyone wants to be EMO nowadays. And I just don't get it.
As I have known, EMO is short for EMOTIONAL and not just looking EMO, with those bangs and other things stated above. They also have this thing like "How to look emo" and it's really kinda lame.
Like yea, its ok to be EMO sometimes, (emotional) but don't like "career" being EMO. It's ok to express how you feel but not like "Yeah. I'm emo, pity me, fix me I'm broken stuff" LAME!
There's also things called as EMO music and some say that the "EMO's" do suicide when they hear these kinds of songs, and who the heck would attempt suicide just because of hearing a song? It's very ironic. Are they hypnotized or something by the music to commit suicide?
Sometimes, I just don't get this emo-ness thing, maybe a true emo would be able to explain to me how this thing goes.
This is not to offend any emo's there (I mean if there are...) This is just an honest opinion about this "EMO" thing.
Another thing is...
